Your teeth deserve the best care there is, and we can give it to them.
Your teeth and gums are an integral part of your overall health and wellbeing, and it’s our job to protect them. We pride ourselves on both educating and understanding our patients, and partnering with them to make the best choices possible to achieve their dental goals. Whether your teeth are in perfect condition or in need of some serious work, we’re here to help.
We see a new patient as an opportunity to build a life-long relationship. No matter your dental background, you can expect a few things at your first visit:
Questionnaire & Introduction
A new patient questionnaire helps us learn about your medical and dental history, which is key to providing you with safe, effective care. You will meet your new Vancouver dentist face-to-face, where you may discuss dental history, questions or concerns, and expectations.
If you have current x-rays on file with another dental office, we may be able to transfer them over to instead of taking new ones. Otherwise, we’ll take a complete set of x-rays for examination and for our own documentation. These will be used to track your progress with us as well.
If you’ve come to our office to become a regular patient, chances are you’re in need of a professional cleaning by the time of the first appointment. A dental hygienist will scrape away tartar, then floss and polish your teeth before administering a fluoride treatment.
A thorough exam will be completed at your first appointment, during which your new Vancouver dentist will make notes on your teeth, gums, lips, cheeks, and tongue. They will look for signs of decay, gingivitis and periodontitis, and other issues. First exams may be slightly longer than regular exams, as the dentist gets to know your mouth.
If we discover any areas for concern, a follow-up visit may be necessary.
We aim to make you feel at home during your first visit to our office. We encourage you to ask questions and voice your concerns, both about your own dental health and about your new dental team. You deserve to feel safe, happy, and informed at the dentist, and we can help achieve that. Call us today to schedule an appointment.
