Clean and healthy teeth: the foundation of our relationship.
Oral health is critical to your wellbeing, not to mention your appearance. Our friendly, skilled staff keep your health and comfort as their top priority, to make your visits to our office brief, enjoyable, and pain-free.
At every exam, you can expect:
A Professional Cleaning
Between visits, plaque may build up in hard-to-clean areas of your teeth and harden into tartar, putting you at risk for cavities, gum disease, and tooth loss. Our Vancouver dental hygienists will remove any tartar deposits before flossing and polishing your teeth to a perfect shine. Your cleaning will be completed with a fluoride treatment to protect your teeth against decay.
At every visit, your Vancouver dentist will examine your teeth, gums, cheeks, tongue, and other soft tissues. They will check the overall health and cleanliness of your mouth, and make note of any issues or abnormalities. Cavities, decay, gum disease, unusual growths or tissues, and signs of bruxism (clenching or grinding teeth) are among the things they will look for. Prior dental work may be examined to ensure its continued health and durability. During this exam, they may ask you questions about your general dental health and will give you time to ask questions or bring up issues such as pain or sensitivity. If it’s been a couple of years since your last set of x-rays, or if an issue presents itself, your dentist may take new x-rays as part of the examination.
Regular checkups are the backbone of a good oral health routine. Exams can uncover many problems before they become severe and require costly or complicated treatment. An exam and a cleaning should be performed at minimum once a year, or more at the recommendation of your dentist.
