A dramatically different smile in as few as two appointments.
Porcelain veneers are thin, tooth-shaped covers that bond directly to the outside of the tooth, changing the shape, size, or colour of one or more of your teeth. They can be applied over teeth that are damaged, deformed, too short or small, or too widely spaced. They can be made to suit almost any smile and are durable and stain-resistant. If your teeth are strong and otherwise healthy but require a visual makeover, veneers may be the solution.
Applying veneers is a three-step process that starts with a consultation to determine if veneers are appropriate for your teeth, and if so, which teeth need adjusting and how. The teeth will be prepared to receive veneers by shaving a very thin layer of enamel off of the front. A mould will be taken of your mouth, which will be used to make veneers which will fit perfectly onto your natural teeth. Your dentist may apply temporary veneers to shield your teeth while the permanent ones are constructed. At the second appointment, the permanent veneers will be tested for look, feel, and fit, and any adjustments you desire will be made before bonding the veneers permanently to your teeth. Your new veneers will feel just like a part of your natural tooth, but with a greatly improved appearance.
Just like natural teeth, veneers require brushing and flossing. With proper care, they can last up to a decade before they require replacement.
