Fearful Patient

Some patients may find dental procedures stressful and intimidating. Others may tremble at the sound of the drill. You are not alone if you feel anxious about a visit to the dentist. We understand and share your concerns and strive to make every dental visit comfortable. Our job is to figure out how to make every patient, especially those who are fearful about dental procedures, so comfortable in their chair so that they put past negative experiences out of their minds.

We conduct prior interviews for every new patient and address his/her concern about the dentist and dental history. If there is anything that we can do and will make you really comfortable, please let us know in advance.

We have created a relaxed environment whereby the patient is able to watch their favorite cable channel while being treated. This way, the patient is able to concentrate on what he/she likes while we perform the procedures.

You may also find the beautiful view of downtown Vancouver and False Creek & Burrard Inlet breathtaking and relaxing.

There are several ways to allow a fearful patient to relax while being treated;

  1. Topical and local anesthetic
  2. Prescription of sedative medication to use the night before and 1 hour before the dental appointment.
  3. Oral Sedation
  4. Nitrous Oxide (Laughing gas)

Anxious or even phobic patients often discover that sedation dentistry makes their anxiety or phobia go away, allowing them to maintain good oral health while being in a totally relaxed state of mind.
